Syntax
light <object>
or
light <object> from/with <object>
This command attempts to light a flammable object. In the case of directly lighting something, such as light <object>
, you must have suitable tools to make sparks on hand. Also, the item must be of such a flammable nature that sparks will ignite it. Otherwise, you must light it from an already burning object with the second version of the command.
Fire making, or lighting something from sparks, involves the use of certain mineral rocks. The mineral must be struck with a hard, sharp edge, such as found on a steel dagger or the like. You must have appropriate tinder to light as well. Some good tinders are dried grass, pine needles, shredded bark, and charred linen.
Firemaking uses the wilderness lore skill, and as such, may take time and practice to learn.
